The MII approves a plan announced last March by SK Telecom and China Unicom to set up a $6m joint venture in Beijing to offer mobile Internet services in China. The venture, called UNISK Information Technology, is the first mobile alliance between a foreign and domestic operator. China Unicom owns a 51% stake in the venture while SK Telecom holds the remaining 49%.
