* Fukuoka Prefecture-based software developer ABsoft KK starts offering a mobile phone-based e-mail service between Japan and China, with plans to attract 2,000 users initially, targeting business people and Chinese students studying in Japan. The service is the first to allow mobile users in Japan and China to transmit email to each other.

ABsoft charges users a monthly fee of 1,500 yen ($12) with a maximum of 150 transmissions.
