Myth: Some nutrition bars, drinks and other "energy" foods contain special nutrients that ward off fatigue.
Truth: Energy comes from burning calories, and so-called energy foods are simply foods that contain extra calories. If you're having trouble gaining weight--or if you're involved in heavy physical training--then the excess calories probably won't hurt. But if you're like most Americans, you probably don't need them. Always remember a simple troth that gets lost amid all the misleading brand names and advertising claims: Only calories produce energy.
