Athletes often hear that they should hydrate--drink water--but many overdo it. How call you determine your actual water loss from strenuous physical exercise? Simple. Weigh yourself totally nude just prior to your game or workout. Then weigh yourself again on the same scale immediately following.
The difference is water loss, which you need to replace. Here's the formula: One pound of weight loss equals two cups of water. A cup is eight ounces, or about 200 milliliters. Oh, one other thing: Before jumping on the scale, put down those free weights.
