Manufacturer Kao Corp.--whose brands include Jergens, Biore, Curel and John Frieda--has agreed to buy from Bridgepoint Capital, luxury cosmetics and personal care company Molton Brown for $299 million. The U.K.'s Molton Brown is expected to continue to operate as a stand-alone business within Kao's prestige-cosmetics division.
