LA JOLLA, CALIF. -- The information technology assets from Montgomery Ward, which closed its doors at the beginning of 2001, went on sale last month. Assets include Ward's Web site for the sale of fine jewelry, its Class B Internet license and its SMARTsuite software. Among SMARTsuite (Strategic Merchandising and Retail Technology) are software for managing auto maintenance facilities, merchandise management applications, a management system for warranty service and in-home repairs, an automated staff-scheduling system for retail stores, and a point-of-sale and back room application.

Ward appointed Consor Intellectual Asset Management to manage the sale of its custom and commercial software, and Consor will market and sell the properties through the Web site of its partner in this venture WebReCo (Website Recycling Company) and a specially designed site at www.WardsIT.com, which launched last month.
