United Industries Corporation bolstered its position in the lawn and garden chemicals market by recently merging with Schultz Company and entering into a strategic partnership with Bayer CropScience. United's range of lawn and garden care and insect control products under its Spectrum Brands division includes such brands as Spectracide, Hot Shot, Gutter, Vigor, Peters and Real-Kill, among others. Schultz makes plant foods and potting soils under the names Schultz, Expert Gardener, Multi Cote and Garden Safe.
