Despite taking a sales hit in the northeastern United States and Ontario, Canada, due to the recent and wide-reaching blackout, The Bombay Company reported a comparable-store sales gain of 18% for the four-week period ended Aug. 30. Total revenue advanced by 23% to $37.7 million, compared to $30.6 million for the year-earlier period.
