Rapid consolidation of the bicycle business continues with the latest deal by Pacific Cycle and Direct Focus Inc. to acquire the cycling and fitness divisions of Schwinn/GT Corp. for $151 million. Schwinn/GT filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on July 16, 2001, in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Colorado in Denver.
