Apple retail stores generate first profit - Financials - Brief Article

> Apple Computers announced that for the fourth quarter ended Sept. 27, the company posted a net profit of $44 million compared to a net loss of $45 million in the year-ago period. The company's retail stores contributed to this gain, and the division saw its first ever profit in the fourth quarter with revenues of $193 million, up from $48 million in the third quarter, Apple cfo Fred Anderson noted in a conference call.
