Two recent deals moved The Home Depot forward in expansion of its special-order and installed sales. Last month, the retailer announced it would purchase Your "other" Warehouse, a plumbing distributor with a focus on special-order fulfillment. Also, in October, ImproveNet Inc. announced it had formed a partnership with The Home Depot to test an installed sales program in 15 California stores.

Through this program, The Home Depot will use ImproveNet's contractors and project support staff to drive installed sales projects. ImproveNet, a Web-based home improvement service, connects homeowners with retailers, insurers, lenders, manufacturers and remodeling experts.
