Best Buy expanded its proprietary vpr Matrix computer line to include a wide-screen notebook computer designed by Porsche Design and featuring a 15-inch LCD display. The Wintel notebook is being promoted as a mobile home entertainment system complete with DVD and digital audio. The product joins two other notebook models that have been added to the line, which was introduced last year in desktop models and components.

The vpr Matrix 170B4 and 180B5 retail for $1,499.99 and $1,799.99 respectively, while the 200A5 will sell for $2,399. Although vpr Matrix is a proprietary line at Best Buy, this newest notebook also will be sold at the three Porsche Design specialty boutiques in Southern California and Aspen, Colo.
