On another subject, during the session "U.S. Country of Origin Labeling: What's Ahead," a U.S. Department of Agriculture official said that new mandatory country of origin labeling standards will differ substantially from--and in some respects will be more stringent than--the preliminary voluntary standards that have been in the hands of retailers.

The issue of country of origin labeling will remain contentious. In the session, Corsi asserted, "Our customers are not asking for country of origin labeling."
