SEC probes Fleming's practices - Market Watch - Fleming Companies

DSN Retailing Today, Nov 25, 2002

> DALLAS -- As if Kmart's bankruptcy wasn't bad enough, now an informal investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission is underway at Fleming Companies. The food wholesaler said the SEC's preliminary fact-finding inquiry will look into media speculation regarding vendor trade practices, the presentation of second quarter earnings and accounting matters related to drop-ship sales transactions and the calculation of same store sales in Fleming's discontinued retail operations.
