LAS VEGAS, NEW YORK -- Bloomingdale's is blossoming in a number of new areas. The retailer opened a new decor and furniture concept, Bloomingdale's Home, on Nov. 1 in the Fashion Show Mall in Las Vegas. Sin City is fresh territory for this 130-year-old division of Federated Department Stores. This move marks both the growth of the retail franchise, at 27 stores, and that of Las Vegas, which has repositioned itself as a destination for shopping and family fun as well as gambling.

The 100,000-square-foot store features domestics, housewares, furniture, rugs and tabletop. Back in New York, Bloomingdale's is opening a SoHo location next autumn, moving into the six-floor, 124,000-square-foot space on Broadway at Spring Street, long occupied by Canal Jeans. Neighbors include Barney's Co-op. Coach and other high-end retailers.
