Americans are still working out, judging from the performance of Bally Total Fitness. The company operated 385 clubs at the end of last October and reported a 7% increase in net revenue from comparable clubs and a 1% increase in new memberships. The health club operator also recently completed its acquisition of the 19-unit Crunch Fitness chain.
