Using pins in dress shirt packaging has long been a thorny issue for the industry - Vendor News - Brief Article

DSN Retailing Today, Feb 9, 2004 by Emily Scardino

Vendor News--Using pins in dress shirt packaging has long been a thorny issue for the industry. That is why Wal-Mart is requesting that manufacturers utilize a safer alternative: Avery Dennison's new MicroPin technology. Instead of sharp metal, MicroPin uses nylon fasteners to hold things together.

Removable by hand, these synthetic stitches avoid pin sticks and potential problems with customers. Wal-Mart is using MicroPin in brands including Puritan and George.
