WESTBURY, N.Y. -- 1-800-Flowers.com has received kudos for two of its Web sites. Its main site, 1800flowers.com, was named best in the Gifting category in a study recently released by the Direct Marketing Association. It was chosen from among 100 e-commerce sites in 16 product categories that were reviewed during the fourth quarter of 2001 with an emphasis on online merchandising and customer service.

Also, a subsidiary site, operated by Plow & Hearth, earned BizRate.com's "Circle of Excellence" award in the Home and Garden category as one of the 24 best e-tailers during the recent holiday season. Plow & Hearth's site was recognized for outstanding performance in ease of ordering, product selection and availability, on-time delivery, and loyalty and repurchase intent.
