Circuit City honors dead with memorial fund

DSN Retailing Today, March 14, 2005

Circuit City has established a memorial trust for the eight people who perished in the crash of one of the company's private planes on Feb. 16.

The twin-engine plane crashed shortly before 9 a.m. as it approached Pueblo Memorial Airport near Pueblo, Colo., killing all aboard including four Circuit City employees, two representatives of vendor companies, the pilot and co-pilot.

"To honor their memories ... Circuit City has established memorial funds to benefit the family of each victim. The eight funds ... are underwritten by Circuit City and [the company] also will accept memorial gifts," said chairman and ceo, Alan McCollough.

Funds are established in the names of: Vincent D. Choe, David J. Coffman, Kyle J. Harmon and Aaron R. Iskowitz, Circuit City; John Leslie and Asboe Jorgensen, Infinitive; Bruce C. Walton and Jeffrey Stuart Wightman, Martinair; and David C. Winston, IBM.

Memorial contributions may be made to any of the eight funds at all Wachovia Banks. For more information about the memorial funds, contact Kristina Louka at Wachovia Bank, (804) 697-6709.
