LINCOLNWOOD, ILL -- Publications International Ltd. unveiled the follow-up to its popular Story Reader learning toy at Toy Fair. My First Story Reader is designed for children ages 6 months to 3 years and will debut Sept. 1 at major retailers including Wal-Mart. My First Story Reader is smaller than its predecessor but operates along the same lines.

Users install a small book into the plastic tray of the Story Reader and light sensor technology prompts a narrator to read stories aloud as each page is turned. PIL will support the launch with its first-ever TV ad campaign, starting in October.
