Microsoft won its first major award in the video game arena this month when its hit game "Halo" was named Video Game of the Year for 2001. The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences also honored "Grand Theft Auto III" for outstanding achievement in game design and "Pikmin" for innovative gaming.
