> CUPERTINO, CALIF. -- Apple announced second quarter net profit totaled $290 million, or 34 cents per diluted share, compared with a net profit of $46 million, or 6 cents per diluted share, in the same quarter last year. Apple shipped 1.07 million Macintosh computers and 5.31 million iPods during the quarter, representing a 43% increase in computer units and a 558% increase in iPods over the year-ago quarter.Most RecentRetail Articles
