The American Meat Institute wants USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service - In the Mix - labeling guidelines - Brief Article

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The American Meat Institute wants USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service to modify draft country-of-origin labeling guidelines to exempt meat products that must bear ingredient statements from bearing country-of-origin labels. Under the 2002 Farm Bill, fresh beef, pork and lamb must bear country-of origin labels beginning in September 2004.
