Intel Collaborates with SpaceWorks - Company Business and Marketing - Brief Article

ENT, August 18, 1999

Intel Corp. is working with SpaceWorks Inc. (www.spaceworks.com) on a software project to help businesses implement e-commerce with direct and indirect channels.

The two companies will devote resources to create new applications for automating business-to-business and sales-to-order transactions on the Web. SpaceWorks expects the first release sometime in the fourth quarter.

SpaceWorks' main product, OrderManager, allows enterprises to automate operations with supply chain partners, suppliers and business clients. OrderManager helps businesses set up a self-service sales-to-order environment on the Internet, private corporate intranets or extranets.

Intel has been trying to expand the market for its processors. Intel announced an agreement with Cisco Systems Inc. last month that is aimed at increasing broadband access for PC users. In April, Intel announced it is building several server farms to house business data centers.
