SPSS and Informix Team for CRM - Company Business and Marketing - Brief Article

ENT, Oct 11, 2000

SPSS Inc. and Informix Corp. recently inked an agreement to develop an improved customer relationship management (CRM) solution. Through the agreement, SPSS's CustomerCentric analytical CRM solution will be bundled with Informix Red Brick Warehouse, a database technology for data marts. As part of the deal, Informix (www.informix.com) named SPSS (www.spss.com) a preferred partner.

Using the combined technologies, companies will be able to access data in a Red Brick data warehouse and view it in a business intelligence format. The SPSS component will help users analyze customer data from the data warehouse and then use it to figure out what the users' customers need and want.

Zona Research Inc. (www.zonaresearch.com) says in a recent analysis that this deal benefits both companies. "Here SPSS gets Informix's open, relational database in a scalable data mart solution to go with its eCRM solution that uses prebuilt, industry-specific models and performance indicators."

Zona says both companies will be able to use the other's customer base to increase its own, and that sales of the integrated solution should go smoothly.
