ENT, March 24, 1999
Pilot Software, an OLAP and business intelligence vendor, introduced software to let executives test business decisions in simulations. The new tool, What If Analysis, acts on a company's historic data and allows simulation of different pricing schedules, costs and unit shipments. The software also can be used to prepare budgets and sales quotas. Pilot integrated What If Analysis with its Pilot Decision Support Suite. Additionally, Pilot introduced standard reporting capabilities to the suite through Pilot Desktop Reporting, which uses Seagate Software's Crystal Reports.
