Aberdeen: Hosting Services Market to Hit $70 Billion - Industry Trend or Event - Brief Article

ENT, Dec 13, 2000

The hosting services market is poised for significant growth over the next couple of years, so says a recent report by the Aberdeen Group. The analyst firm predicts the market will reach the $70 billion plateau by 2005.

Hosting services provide an infrastructure solution for companies by incorporating connectivity, hosting operations, and value-add service elements. The demand has grown of late, with more companies turning to hosting services providers to outsource the delivery of mission-critical applications. Companies are also turning to hosting providers for other services, such as the management and hosting of Web sites and network operations.

The report, "Hosting Services: Outsourcing e-Business Delivery-Service Providers Climbing the Value Chain," says the market has evolved from disparate point solutions to the outsourcing of a complete IT infrastructure, with the demand for rich e-business solutions resulting in the need for seamless integration.
