New NetVault Adds W2K Support

BakBone Software announced the avail ability of Net Vault 6.03, its storage management software solution. The 6.03 iteration includes for the first time Network Data Management Protocol (NDMP) and Windows 2000 support.

With the addition of NDMP support, companies will be able to do enterprisewide backup of network-attached storage devices that support the protocol. BakBone increased the number of plug ins available to provide hot backup sup port for leading databases. NetVault's plug-in roster now includes options for IBM DB2, Informix for Solarix, Informix for Try64, Sybase for Windows NT, and Oracle online for Tru64. Previous versions of NetVault supported SAP R/3, Microsoft SQL Server, and NCR Teradata.

NetVault includes support for the Windows 2000, NT 4.0, and 95/98 plat forms, as well as several Unix and Linux platforms.
