Allied Telesyn International announced a new version of its AT-2500TX Fast Ethernet adapter card for PCI systems. The AT-2500TX/ACPI adds support for OnNow and ACPI.
AT-2500TX/ACPI simplifies network administration by supporting the OnNow and ACPI power management initiatives defined by Microsoft Corp.'s PC98 requirements and complies with the industrywide Net PC specification.
The adapter's full-duplex capabilities facilitate simultaneous transmit and receive, making it possible to achieve 200 Mbps of bandwidth. A low CPU utilization rate means that the CPU has more resources to devote to applications.
