BMC Software Inc. (www.bmc.com) is supporting Windows 2000-based systems through its Patrol Solution suite. The product line includes versions for Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2000 Advanced Server, BackOffice Server, Systems Management Server, Exchange Server, SQL Server, and SNA Server.
BMC Software offers new monitoring features for Windows 2000 users, including special configuration options for customers that allow them to choose to what degree they wish to implement Windows 2000 monitoring. Items that Patrol will monitor include distributed file systems (DFS), dynamic DNS, availability, Windows management instrumentation, and COM .

The Patrol for Windows 2000 Solutions also deliver monitoring of Active Directory so customers can determine how many queries have been successful and how much space is available. Additionally, Patrol Solutions enable users to determine the ability of Active Directory to connect to other servers.
"Our goal is to deliver comprehensive enterprise management solutions, providing a holistic view of the enterprise -- whether in a homogeneous NT or Windows 2000 environment or a heterogeneous environment," said Bob Kruger, vice president for e-business and Windows NT solutions at BMC, in a statement.
