NetOps Predicts and Prevents Network Faults

NetOps Corp. (Pleasantville, N.Y.) announced Do-It-Yourself analysis, a network fault prediction analysis product that enables users to identify, isolate and fix problems before they affect network performance. The product features distributed service monitors that model, collect, threshold and report network problems to standard industry management software.

Maxspeed Offers Serial Port System

Maxspeed (Palo Alto, Calif.) announced PSRack, a high-speed expandable serial port system that supports up to 128 intelligent PCI serial ports per rack. The rack connects directly to servers via a PCI serial controller and can hold up eight 16-port modules. Multiple PSRack systems can be connected to the same host, enabling Windows NT servers to access up to 256 serial devices.

NLynx Emulates 5250 for Midrange Access

NLynx Systems Inc. (Austin, Texas) announced the NLynx 3XTwin Any-Window 5250 hardware/software package, which combines NLynx's 3XTwin adapter card with ES/95 software for Windows NT and Windows 95, and TwinView Elite software for Windows 3.x and Windows for Work-groups 3.11. The package is designed for users wishing to access IBM Corp. midrange systems using Microsoft Corp. operating systems.

Attachmate Debuts Remote Access Solution

Attachmate Corp. (Bellevue, Wash.) announced version 5.0 of Remote LAN Node, a software remote access product that features integrated ISDN B-2 protocol support, IP/IPX Windows 95 and Windows NT dial-out capabilities, and Multilink PPP support.

GigaLabs Introduces SCSI Switching for Storage

GigaLabs Inc. (Sunnyvale, Calif.) announced Jigsaw, a line of switches that handle both bus and protocol switching. Jigsaw can switch SCSI bus traffic directly, negating protocol translation and reaching data transfer speeds of up to 10 times higher than conventional switching systems.
