The smalltooth sawfish is being considered for protection under the Endangered Species Act. A near relation of the shark, it is the first marine fish found in U.S. waters to be proposed for federal protection. Once prevalent in southern waters, the smalltooth sawfish is now limited to certain parts of the Florida Keys and Everglades National Park....
