AORN Journal, Jan, 2002
The AORN Board of Directors governs the affairs of the Association. Board members are elected by the House of Delegates at Congress. The President and President-elect each serve one-year terms; all other Board of Directors members serve two-year terms. Elections are staggered so the Board is never completely composed of new members.
The Board meets after Congress each year and at least two other times during the year. Reports from the Board of Directors' meetings are prepared by the Secretary and have been submitted to the AORN Journal for publication. At the 2002 Congress, delegates will elect a President-elect, a Vice President, a Secretary, three Board of Directors members, and three Nominating Committee members. Candidate profiles and election statements are published in this issue of the AORN Journal (see page 77).
