The following guidelines are designed to simplify registering for Congress. Attendees may preregister for Congress or register on-site. The registration area will be located in the main lobby of the Anaheim Convention Center. Attendees may obtain ribbons at a separate counter in the registration area. Each person who registers for Congress will receive
* a Congress badge for admission to all activities with a neck wallet badge holder;
* a Congress Resources book that includes education session overviews, evaluation forms, and delegate information;
* a Congress Program that contains a planning calendar, exhibit information, maps, and general information; and

* an Expocard--a plastic card with a magnetic strip--that stores each attendee's registration information and can be used in the Exhibit Hall to request information from exhibitors.
Pre-Congress attendees may pick up their Congress registration materials when they pick up their pre-Congress registration materials. In an effort to register all pre-Congress attendees before their sessions, Congress registration will not open until 10 AM on Saturday, April 20. Nurses registering on-site who wish to become AORN members may do so by paying the appropriate membership dues. Congress attendees may keep their Expocards and neck wallet badge holders as Congress souvenirs.
Some important dates to remember follow.
* March 8, 2002--Last day to register for pre-Congress and Congress at discounted rates.
* March 25, 2002--Deadline for pre-Congress and Congress cancellations. All cancellations must be received in writing.
* April 8, 2002--Last day to register through Headquarters.
New this year, all registrations must be received at Headquarters by the dates specified to receive mailings and stated fees. AORN will not honor the postmark on mailed items. The early registration date is March 8, 2002. All registrations must be received by this date to receive the fee stated on the registration form and to receive exhibitor-related material before Congress.
Registration. The final day to preregister for pre-Congress (Table 1) and Congress (Table 2) at discounted rates is March 8, 2002. Those who preregister will receive a confirmation notice of their registration and an information letter highlighting items of interest. Students should call Kendra Keene, chapter relations coordinator, at (800) 755-2676 x 250 for Congress student registration information.
Members who register on-site must fill out registration forms, show their membership cards or one other form of identification, and pay the appropriate fee. On-site registration times for pre-Congress are as follows.
* Friday, April 19--1 to 5 PM
* Saturday, April 20--7 AM to 2 PM
On-site pre-Congress registration is subject to seating availability.
On-site registration times for Congress are as follows.
* Friday, April 19--1 to 5 PM
* Saturday, April 20--10 AM to 5 PM
* Sunday, April 21--7 AM to 5 PM
* Monday, April 22--7 AM to 5 PM
* Tuesday, April 23--7 AM to 5 PM
* Wednesday, April 24--7 AM to 5 PM
* Thursday, April 25--7 AM to 2 PM
New members. Nonmember nurses, students, and associates (ie, health care industry representatives, central service professionals, physicians, health care administrators, materials managers, informatics personnel, pharmacists) who are interested in joining AORN can obtain information and dues amounts at the registration counters. Cashiers will help attendees join AORN and register for Congress at the discounted member rate.
Payment. Fees may be paid by cash, check, money order, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover.
Cancellations. Refund requests must be received in writing by March 25, 2002. No refund requests will be accepted after this date. A $50 administrative fee will be assessed for all Congress cancellations, and a $20 fee will be charged for pre-Congress cancellations.
