AORN Exhibitors' Advisory Committee, Congress Incentive Program, Exhibitor Sponsorship Program, Nurses/Exhibitors Day activities - Exhibitors' Advisory Committee

AORN Journal, Jan, 2002

The AORN Exhibitors' Advisory Committee (EAC) represents all companies exhibiting at the 2002 Congress in Anaheim, Calif. It is composed of two AORN staff members and nine industry members who are nominated and appointed by the EAC. The AORN Executive Director acts as the liaison to the EAC. The Committee's purpose is to advise and assist AORN in matters pertaining to Congress exhibits, the Congress Incentive Program, the Exhibitor Sponsorship Program, the Michael D. Corley Scholarship, and Nurses/Exhibitors Day activities held each year at Congress. The EAC members can be identified by the brown ribbons attached to their name badges.

CONGRESS INCENTIVE AND EXHIBITOR SPONSORSHIP PROGRAMS

The EAC awards a $100,000 grant to the AORN Foundation to administer both the Congress Incentive Program and the Exhibitor Sponsorship Program. The Congress Incentive Program assists chapters in sending members and delegates to Congress. Through the program, 60 chapters received $800 each and two members-at-large received $350 each for the 2002 Congress. To be eligible for the drawing, individuals were required to register for Congress by Dec 14, 2001, and membership was required to be current. The drawing will be held Jan 7, 2002. One entry per chapter is allowed. Presidents of the winning chapters will be notified after the drawing via letter, which will include the $800 check. The two member-at-large winners will receive notification in writing and can pick up their checks at the AORN Foundation booth in Anaheim.

The Exhibitor Sponsorship Program distributed funds to managers who have never attended Congress. Notification was given in writing.

NURSES/EXHIBITORS DAY ACTIVITIES

The day will begin with concurrent sessions followed by the ribbon cutting to signify the opening of exhibits. After exhibits close, Amanda Gore will present the Jerry G. Peer Lectureship titled "Get a Life!" Gore's presentation will address easy, effective techniques to counter stress, and she will teach attendees to feel happier, do more, and improve performance. These techniques can be incorporated into everyday life, and those using these techniques will see a dramatic improvement in many areas.

The EAC and the 2002 AORN Congress exhibiting companies look forward to a wonderful week in Anaheim.
