CLINICAL IMMUNOLOGY By Reginald Gorczynski, Jacqueline Stanley 1999, 403 pp $45 wire bound

This book is well organized and very subject oriented. This is not a book for the novice medical professional or even a veteran who is not in the market for a detailed, subject-specific read. It is, however, an excellent reference for an individual looking for specific information regarding immunology.

Chapters are organized well, and each further develops the information presented in previous chapters. The authors begin with basic explanations of the immune system and progress to in-depth analyses of lymphocytes, immunization, autoimmune disorders, and transplantation. The charts and graphs contain sufficient detail and relate to the subjects referenced. Tests and discussion questions at the end of each chapter provide a review of the subject matter and are relative to nursing care.

This book is not light or easy reading, but it provides incredible insight into clinical immunology. The format and illustrations provide excellent reference and teaching potential.

This book is available from Landes Bioscience, 810 S Church St, Georgetown, TX 78626; (512) 863-7762.
