AORN Board of Directors - Board Of Directors

The AORN Board of Directors governs the affairs of the Association. Officers and Board members are elected by the House of Delegates at Congress. The President and President-elect each serve one-year terms; all other members of the Board of Directors serve two-year terms. Elections are staggered so the Board never is composed completely of new members.

The Board meets after Congress each year and at least two other times during the year. Reports from the Board of Directors' meetings are prepared by the Secretary and submitted to the AORN Journal for publication.

At the 2003 Congress, delegates will elect a President-elect, a Treasurer, and four Board of Directors members. Candidate profiles and election statements are published in this issue of the AORN Journal (see page 65). At Congress, Board members will wear pale blue ribbons attached to their badges. Candidates will wear light green ribbons. The President's ribbon is black.

Photographs of the Board of Directors members accompany this article. The caption for each photograph identifies the person's elected office, his or her job title and location, and the year his or her term expires.
