AORN membership made easy

AORN Journal,  July, 2005  

A simplified membership dues structure that was passed by the AORN House of Delegates at the 2005 Congress became effective July 1, 2005. Every AORN member now will pay a single registration fee of $100 that includes national and chapter membership and one specialty assembly membership. Members representing their chapters as delegates also will receive a $100 discount on their Congress registration fees.

Every AORN member will be able to belong to one specialty assembly for no additional charge. Specialty assemblies provide information, educational resources, and networking opportunities that are relevant to specific practice areas. New resources for specialty assembly members include

* access to a nursing practice consultant who is dedicated to the specialty assembly;

* web-based communities available 24 hours per day to share information and exchange ideas with peers in the same practice area;

* AORN Journal articles online, indexed by practice area;

* easy document sharing capabilities;

* a monthly section in the AORN Connections newsletter devoted to practice issues related to specific specialty areas; and
