One or more tracks are identified for each education session. The tracks identify the broad content area for each session. Most sessions have threads of several content areas. The following definitions are used to identify broad content areas:

C Clinical--Relates to the care of the patient, including surgical procedures, direct patient care, evidenced-based practice, and/or ethical issues.

I Informatics--Sessions that cover computer applications in perioperative nursing.

L/M Leadership/Management--Empowering, motivating, and organizing people to achieve a common goal; gaining additional information as to how things work or how to make things work better.

L/MO Management education sessions with a focus on operations.

L/MWF Management education sessions with a focus on the workforce.

An (R) after a session number denotes a repeat session. Sessions that qualify for AORN risk management credit are denoted by a +. (e) indicates the number of continuing education contact hours awarded for a session. You must attend 90% of an education session to earn the contact hours. Nondelegate participants who attend a session in each of the concurrent session time periods and attend all General Sessions can earn 28.2 contact hours, and delegates who attend a session during nonbusiness concurrent session time periods and attend all General Sessions can earn 22.2 contact hours.

Contact hours may be awarded for continuing education content presented in the Forums and House of Delegates sessions. The agenda will determine whether and what number of contact hours will be awarded. The number of contact hours awarded for posters will be determined when the number of poster sessions is identified. Total contact hours will be included in the final attendee letter.
