The 49th annual AORN Congress will take place April 21 to 25, 2002, in Anaheim, Calif. The theme of this year's Congress is "Circles of Care." Be sure to join your perioperative nursing colleagues and industry partners for this exciting, educational event. Important deadline, registration, and risk management information follows. EARLY REGISTRATION DEADLINE REMINDER
The early registration deadline is March 8, 2002. Members who register by this date will save $105 over the regular member registration fee (Table 1). Also, take advantage of the group registration discount by registering three or more AORN members using one form of payment (ie, all registrations paid for with one check or one credit card) and save an additional $20 over the discounted early registration fee for members. The group discount is available only to members and for registrations received by March 8, 2002. New this year, all registrations must be received at Headquarters by the dates specified to receive mailings and stated fees. AORN will not honor the postmark on mailed items.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
The following guidelines e designed to simplify registering for Congress. Attendees may preregister for Congress or register on-site. The registration area will be located in the main lobby of the Anaheim Convention Center. Attendees may obtain ribbons at a separate counter in the registration area. Each person who registers for Congress will receive
* a Congress badge for admission to all activities with a neck wallet badge holder;
* a Congress Resources book that includes education session overviews, evaluation forms, and delegate information;
* a Congress Program that contains a planning calendar, exhibit information, maps, and general information; and
* an Expocard--a plastic card with a magnetic strip--that stores each attendee's registration information and can be used in the Exhibit Hall to request information from exhibitors.
Some important dates to remember follow.
* March 8, 2002--Last day to register for pre-Congress and Congress at discounted rates.
* March 25, 2002--Deadline for pre-Congress and Congress cancellations. All cancellations must be received in writing.
* April 8, 2002--Last day to register through Headquarters.
Payment. Fees may be paid by cash, check, money order, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover.
Cancellations. Refund requests must be received in writing by March 25, 2002. No refund requests will be accepted after this date. A $50 administrative fee will be assessed for all Congress cancellations, and a $20 fee will be charged for pre-Congress cancellations.
RISK MANAGEMENT SESSIONS
The following pre-Congress and Congress sessions qualify for AORN Risk Management credit. Earning four contact hours of AORN Risk Management credit annually qualifies AORN members for a 10% insurance premium credit. For details, call AORN's endorsed insurance administrator, Seabury & Smith, at (800) 621-3008 x 105. Be sure to mention that you are an AORN member.
Pre-Congress. The following pre-Congress sessions qualify for risk management credit:
