Nursing campaign wins national public relations award - Brief Article

AORN Journal,  August, 2002

Nurses for a Healthier Tomorrow, a coalition of 39 leading nursing and health care organizations, including AORN, has been awarded the 2002 Silver Anvil Award by the Public Relations Society of America. The award recognizes the best in strategic public relations planning and implementation.

Nurses for a Healthier Tomorrow has developed a national advertising campaign targeted at young people in middle schools and high schools that is designed to boost the attractiveness of nursing as a profession. The campaign, which features real nurses, uses the slogan "Nursing. It's Real, It's Life." More than $1 million in monetary and in-kind contributions have been raised for the nursing campaign.
