AORN Journal, August, 2006
In July 2006, Linda DeLia joined the AORN Editorial Department in the new position of manuscript solicitation editor. DeLia's primary mission is to solicit manuscripts for the AORN Journal by encouraging nurses, physicians, and academicians to write and submit articles. Another important aspect of DeLia's role is to mentor inexperienced or hesitant authors as they prepare their articles. She will support the author until a manuscript is ready to be submitted for publication consideration to AORN Journal Editor-in-Chief Nancy Girard, RN, PhD, FAAN. If Dr Girard or the peer reviewers request revisions, DeLia is available for additional mentoring and writing support.
