On Saturday, June 24, 2006, AORN member Rebecca "Becky" Patton, RN, MSN, CNOR, of Lakewood, Ohio, was elected national president of the American Nurses Association (ANA). Patton was one of three candidates being considered for this position. Two of the candidates were perioperative nurses. Patton will serve as president of the ANA for a two-year term.
