Important delegate packet coming soon! - Highlights And Tours

AORN Journal,  March, 2002

AORN will be sending an important packet to all delegates and alternate delegates regarding Governance Task Force (GTF) issues. These packets will be mailed approximately March 1, 2002. Some of the information in the packet may not be published in the AORN Journal, so it is important for delegates to read this material. A committee report published in the February AORN Journal will help delegates further understand the information being sent. AORN also will be mailing this packet to all chapter presidents so they will be aware of these issues and can work with their delegates as needed.

In addition, the GTF has updated their web page, http://www.aorn.org/about/governance.htm, to provide members with current information on the work of the task force. There is a link on the web page that enables members to direct questions individually to the GTF. Members of the GTF are monitoring the site.

The goal of the GTF is to help move AORN into the future with involved and empowered members and creative chapters and specialty assemblies. Members of the GTF are located throughout the country. Although they do not have funds for travel, they will make every effort to support chapters that are located nearby or chapters that may have the resources to support travel, in the event a chapter would like a GTF member to attend a meeting. Governance Task Force members are located in the following areas.

* New England

* Western New York State

* Atlanta

* Ft Lauderdale, Fla

* Ohio

* Dallas

* Seattle

* San Francisco

* Long Beach, Calif

* San Diego

Please feel free to contact Charlotte Guglielmi, chair of the GTF, by e-mail at clgsunny@aol.com, or by telephone at work, (617) 754-3025, or home, (617) 479 8443; or Mary Lopez, mlopez@aorn.org, for further information on how to connect with members of the GTF.
