AORN Collaborates with University to offer lower tuition - Brief Article

AORN Journal, Sept, 2003

Beginning this fall, AORN and the University of Colorado (CU) Health Sciences Center School of Nursing, Denver, will offer AORN members preferred tuition rates for an online RN to bachelor of science in nursing program. The current out-of-state tuition rate is $677 per credit hour; the AORN preferred rate is $350 per credit hour. This rate is consistent with AORN/CU certificate programs.

The curriculum provides for competency development in professional nursing, nursing research, health assessments, and clinical experiences in leadership and management, care management, public health nursing, and other areas of study. All courses will be conducted via the Internet, and clinical experiences will be arranged in the community where the student lives and works. This program is ideal for RNs who previously have earned associate's degrees or diplomas in nursing who want to advance their careers and RN first assistants (RNFAs) who want to meet educational criteria to be eligible to take the RNFA certification (ie, CRNFA) examination.

AORN members must meet admission requirements and course prerequisites to be accepted as students in the School of Nursing. Visit http:// www.uchsc.edu/nursing/rnbspromo.htm for course descriptions, admission requirements, prerequisites, and an application form.
