Sing, play, and travel. The VA-National Medical Musical Croup (MMG) is recruiting new members for its chorus and symphony orchestra, according to a Dec 20, 2003, news release from the MMG. The group brings music to hospitalized veterans, the armed forces, and the public. The 2004 program includes a performance at the Ninth Congressional Flag Day Concert in Washington, DC, in June 2004, and National Veterans Day concerts in AtLanta and Tampa, Fla, in November, followed by a Caribbean cruise. The concerts are broadcast nationally.
Physicians, dentists, nurses, other health care personnel, faculty members, students, and their family members may apply. Affiliation with the VA is not required. The MMG is the largest medical music group in the United States and is the recipient of the 2002 Congressional Medal of Honor Society's Bob Hope Award.
