30 years ago in the AORN Journal

AORN Journal, Sept, 2007

A number of articles address nursing audits to evaluate nursing care and to effect change. The articles discuss how to write measurable criteria, implement an audit program, and analyze and use the data after they are collected. * The AORN Board announces plans for a World Conference in the Philippines in conjunction with the annual AORN International Symposium, which also will include visits to Singapore, Hong Kong, Osaka/Kyoto, and Tokyo during an 18-day period. * A news item cites study findings that fewer US health care professionals are smoking cigarettes and more feel an obligation to "set a good example." * "Speak Out," a nurse defends her decision to pursue a degree in a field other than nursing.
