2001 slate of candidates - Brief Article

The Nominating Committee met in August to select candidates for the 2001 ballot. All AORN members may use the sample ballot at the right to communicate their preferences to their delegates. Only authorized delegates, however, may vote in the election at Congress. Additional nominations may be made from the floor during the first session of the House of Delegates. Before nomination, however, the eligibility of additional nominees must be verified, and consent-to-serve forms must be completed. The Pre-Congress issue of the Journal (ie, January 2001) will contain biographical information and election statements of all candidates.

NEW AT CONGRESS 2001

The committee has heard that members want more opportunities to speak to candidates. At Congress in Dallas, the committee will host an "Informal One-on-One Speak to the Candidates" in the AORN Booth during exhibit hours on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 13 and 14. This session, which is optional for candidates, will offer members a chance to speak individually to candidates. The committee also will host a networking session on March 12 for members who are interested in developing their leadership skills. Topics will include articulating leadership skills, networking, compiling biographical information, and understanding the nomination process.
