New foundation to provide scholarships, research grants - Brief Article

AORN Journal,  April, 2002

The Board of Governors of the National League for Nursing (NLN) has announced the establishment of the NLN Foundation for Nursing Education. The foundation aims to address the shortage of nurse educators and improve the quality of nursing education by providing scholarships for nurse educators and grants for nursing education research, according to a Feb 4, 2002, news release from NLN.

The foundation hopes that scholarships will help recruit nurses to faculty roles and increase the number of qualified teachers in nursing schools. Guidelines and procedures for applying for the scholarships and grants will be forthcoming from the foundation.
