The 50th annual AORN Congress, themed "50 Years of Excellence, Vision to Reality," will be held March 23 to 27, 2003, in Chicago. AORN will celebrate 50 years of sharing perioperative knowledge, ideas, and experience in a city that celebrates world-class culture, food, and fun.

REGISTRATION

The registration brochure will be mailed this month and will provide dates, housing and airline information, and registration information necessary to make travel plans. Also, look for registration information on AORN Online at http://www.aorn .org/congress/registration.htm. Member rates range from $395 per person to $525 per person for the five-day main conference.

NEW FEATURES

Several new features will debut at Congress 2003. A Lifestyles Pavilion will feature products and services that can enhance your life at work and at home. Another special event will be Dance Through the Decades, a 50th anniversary Congress celebration party, which will be held Tuesday evening, March 25. Faculty members from schools of nursing will be allowed to attend Congress free of charge on Wednesday. In addition, there will be two mornings of exclusive exhibit hours for management-level attendees.

STUDENTS

AORN is excited to offer student nurses free registration. Students will enjoy a day-long introduction to the OR, a networking event with fellow students, and a chance to visit the largest perioperative trade show in the country. Free registration is available to individuals pursuing education leading to eligibility to sit for the RN licensing examination. Student nurses do not need to be members of AORN. Student nurses will be asked to show their student identification at registration.

WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND

There are many reasons to attend AORN's 50th Congress. The trade show held at Congress is the largest nursing trade show in the country. At Congress, you can design your own education program to meet your professional needs. Attend education sessions and visit exhibit booths offering educational modules to earn valuable contact hours. There are ample opportunities to network with colleagues and share valuable perioperative knowledge. You also will have the opportunity to meet with company representatives and learn more about their latest products and services.
